CAEx campus overview
The Central Asian Expocenter (CAEx / Oʻrta Osiyo Yarmarka Markazi) is Uzbekistan’s flagship fair complex: large column-free halls, concurrent meeting rooms, organiser offices, and catering nodes suited to international trade audiences. Wayfinding, security screening, and badge control are aligned to a single exhibitor and visitor flow for WTTM Global Expo.
- Typical show-floor hours: 09:00–18:00 (local) — confirm in your confirmation.
- Badge visible at all times; follow photography and drone policies posted in halls.
- Official contractors and rigging rules apply; custom builds require advance approval.
Arriving by air — Tashkent International (TAS)
TAS is the primary gateway for intercontinental and regional flights. Immigration, baggage reclaim, and ground transport are consolidated in the main terminal complex. Allow buffer time on arrival day for passport control and cash/card stops before travelling to CAEx.
- Licensed taxi and app-based ride services operate from designated ranks; journey time to CAEx is commonly 15–25 minutes depending on traffic.
- Pre-booked meet-and-greet or hotel transfers reduce wait time during peak arrival waves.
- Keep a copy of your registration or invitation with travel documents if requested at border control.
Regional rail & overland access
Uzbekistan is landlocked; many delegates combine high-speed or overnight rail with road transfers from Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, or Tajikistan. Check visa, insurance, and vehicle permits before driving — commercial freight for stands must clear customs under exhibitor documentation issued by the organiser.
- Road: modern highways connect Tashkent with regional capitals — plan rest stops and winter equipment where relevant.
- Rail: Afrosiyob and other services link Samarkand and Bukhara for pre/post touring — book seats early.
- Freight: use only approved forwarders and labels referenced in your technical manual.
Metro, taxis, and parking
Tashkent Metro is fast and inexpensive; the nearest interchange to CAEx may require a short taxi or walk with luggage. On-site parking is limited during build-up — follow marshals and exhibitor vehicle passes.
- Carry Uzbekistani som (UZS) for small taxi fares; major cards work in larger hotels.
- Ride-hail apps are widely used; confirm pickup zones outside the venue fence.
- Accessible routes: request accessibility support through official channels when registering.
Hotels, visas, and health
Book early for May peak demand near CAEx or along metro corridors. Visa rules depend on nationality — many visitors use Uzbekistan’s e-visa or visa-free schemes; others require consular stickers. Travel insurance and routine vaccinations should meet your employer’s duty-of-care policy.
- Use official partner hotel links from your confirmation where negotiated rates apply.
- Hydration and climate: early May is warm — plan light business layers for halls with strong air handling.
- First aid and venue security are on duty throughout show days.
Sustainability & professional conduct
WTTM promotes responsible business travel: minimise single-use plastics on stands, prefer digital collateral, and respect local customs in public spaces. Harassment, aggressive solicitation, or unofficial ticketing are not tolerated — report incidents to security or the organiser desk.
