The exhibition of the element technology is divided into the elements fire, water and air. At various interactive stations, visitors can playfully explore the elements and everything that is technically related to them. By doing so, the museum repeatedly refers to inventors and ideas.
With the opening of the Phantech 2019, a year-long odyssey came to an end for the technology collection. Founded in 1961, the Polytechnic Museum was renamed the Technical State Museum in 1990 and had to give up its location in the castle. After stops in the glasshouse, the exhibition found a new home in a converted military complex. In addition to the permanent exhibition, the Phantechnic regularly presents special shows.
Try And Experience
Experience technology first-hand, that’s what the Phantechnic has set itself. This is how it all goes in the roundabout – and by the way, visitors learn how the propeller of an airplane works.
Visitors to a propeller carousel can follow the functioning of a propeller plane and get to know a flow channel. Whether it is possible to sail against the wind, shows another station. If you like, try also the virtual welding trainer. It is only possible to weld the seam clean and straight with a very steady hand. Who makes a mistake and touches the edges, triggers a signal. A magnet for children is the soap bubble island, which explains the phenomenon of surface tension at the same time.
The Exhibition Also Displays Numerous Models From The History Of Technology
The model of a fighter plane, which was once produced by the Heinkel plants, is a huge ship engine and a more than 100 years old steam engine. A highlight is the world’s first ejection seat for pilots.
